Most of us have experienced plugging an old USB stick or external drive into our smart TV and getting the dreaded "No device detected" error. Sometimes we're left scratching our heads when the TV detects the device, but can't read the files on it. This often happens at the worst of times, like when the internet is down and you can't access streaming services.
