When HDMI 2.2 was announced last year, I was cautiously optimistic about it. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for new HDMI standards, and HDMI 2.2 doubling the bandwidth to 96 Gbps, supporting up to 4K at 240Hz uncompressed, and even supporting 10K, 12K, and 16K resolutions is extremely impressive.
