Anyone who's ever considered an OLED TV is familiar with the concept of burn-in. Essentially, the "O" in OLED -- its organic electroluminescent layer -- is more prone to degradation under heat than synthetic material. When static objects stay onscreen for hours at a time, this can produce image retention, a.k.a. "ghost" patterns. In the long run, color tint and diminished brightness are unavoidable.
