A practice Apple is coming under increasing scrutiny for is the arbitrary gating of some features. It's not entirely clear, for example, why the first-generation Apple Watch Ultra can't run some form of watchOS 27, even if it might not be equipped for Siri AI. More baffling is that only iPads with M-series processors can extend their desktop to an external display, instead of mirroring -- never mind that the MacBook Neo can do the same while running the A16 Pro chip from my iPhone 16 Pro.
