When it comes to safeguarding a movie collection, most people immediately think of Blu-rays and DVDs, or perhaps VHS tapes if they're nostalgic or going retro. After all, it would take some unique circumstances to destroy a digital movie by sitting on something or leaving it in the sun. I sometimes catch myself thinking of digital files as eternal -- certainly, they're holding out a lot better than those old Captain Power tapes, assuming my family still has them somewhere.
