There's no doubt that John Wayne is one of the most influential actors of all time. I'll never forget one of the first movies I ever saw him in, The Longest Day, where he played a paratrooper leading men on D-Day. While Wayne starred in more than 100 movies throughout his career, he is perhaps best known for the iconic roles he played in Westerns, a genre he helped define over the course of his decades-long career.
