Skoda's first ever all-electric vehicle, the Enyaq, has been revealed in a new sportier-looking variant: the Enyaq Coupe iV. Pocket-lint was at the London reveal event of Skoda's latest EV, where the Czech brand pulled the cloth from its new SUV model.
Initially it will be available only as the Enyaq Coupe RS iV - that being the 'hot' version pictured here, in a so-called Mamba Green paint job - but after three months the standard Coupe iV model will go on sale.
There's no price point set just yet - although Skoda acknowledges it'll be the priciest model in its range - with pre-orders kicking in from February, the RS models set to arrive to cutomers from July. That'll be followed by May pre-orders for the standard Coupe iV, but its on-the-road date is only expected to trail by a short period, with deliveries in the UK expected from around August.
So what does the Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV offer? Well, other than that sloping roofline and therefore more sporty looks, the aerodynamic shape ought to improve the overall range - with Skoda claiming 545km/338m per charge. Although don't take that as a huge boost: the original Enyaq had an official range of 332 miles, so it's hardly any different.
The charging speed has been boosted, too, with a charge to 80 per cent from flat possible in under 30 minutes. Skoda hasn't confirmed the spec, but that suggests to us it must be a 150kW system - because the 125kW available on the original Enyaq (introduced in December 2021) wasn't even that speedy.
Speaking of speed, the Coupe RS adds plenty of extra pep, with a 0-100kmph/0-62mph time of 6.5 seconds, one-upping the original Enyaq's 8 seconds flat time over the same distance. Some might not call that true RS performance, though, as the likes of the Volvo XC40 Recharge can cover that distance in just 4.7 seconds.
