Amazon has confirmed that its summer sales event - Prime Day - will take place in July in 2022.
The information was revealed in the company's Q1 2022 earnings report and suggests that Amazon is reverting to a post-pandemic state: previously Amazon shuffled Prime Day in 2020 and 2021 to better reflect what was happening around the world.
"This year, Prime Day will take place in July in more than 20 countries. During Amazon's annual shopping event, Prime members will be able to save on products from national brands and small businesses across every category," says Amazon.
The exact date remains unknown, for now, but Prime Day typically falls on a Monday or Tuesday, so it's likely that the date will be around the 12th or 19th July 2022.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Prime Day is technically a 24-hour sale, but often the sales start in advance of that day and endure a little after. The thing that differentiates Prime Day from other sales events - like Black Friday - is that it's for Amazon Prime Members.
While other retailers will compete by discounting prices, it's usually those with an Amazon Prime membership who get access to the best deals.

What are we expecting to be discounted on Prime Day?
Amazon likes to discounts its own devices, so you can expect discounts on Amazon Echo, Fire TV devices, Kindle and Fire tablets.
There's often a full run of discounts on smart home devices, not just from Amazon brands like Blink or Ring, but from the likes of Arlo or Philips Hue too.
Then there are the random single day deals, on things like garden furniture or beach toys - or perhaps you fancy picking up an inflatable kayak for the summer?
