How to set up Spotify music alarms in the Google Clock app

Did you know the Google Clock app works with Spotify?

Spotify users on Android phones can set music from Spotify as their alarm. This capability is available to both free users and premium subscribers of Spotify, and it takes less than a minute to set up and start using it.

Here is everything you need to know.

How to set up a Spotify song as your alarm

In a blog post announcing its partnership with Google, Spotify said users need to open up the latest version of the Google Clock app, connect and authenticate their Spotify account, and then they can set a personal alarm soundtrack.

  1. Open up the latest version of the Google Clock app.
  2. Go to the Alarms tab.
  3. You will see two sections for Sounds and Spotify.
  4. Go to Spotify and connect to your account.
  5. You can then look for recommendations or search for tracks.
  6.  Tap any track, album, or playlist to preview it and set it as your alarm tune.

"Make your way to the Alarms tab to find instant music recommendations and effortlessly search and select any track, album, artist, or playlist from Spotify to greet you the following morning," Spotify explained. "The same great experience is also available for our free users in shuffle mode."

When will this feature be available?

Spotify alarms in the Google Clock app began rolling out to all Android users - where Spotify is available - in August 2020.
