Everyone knows that our expensive phones and electronic devices have a shelf life. These are complex machines with parts constantly working behind the scenes. Like anything, they'll one day shuffle off this mortal coil and ascend to the electronics afterlife. But it's a reality we don't want to immediately acknowledge. After all, these devices aren't cheap and have exceptional utility in our everyday lives. The battery is usually the first element to fade. And without the battery, the rest of the system is kaputt. Batteries can only be charged and recharged a finite number of times before they fail entirely. So it's reasonable to expect that your Kindle will eventually need a replacement, as well.
