Movie Review : Inception directed and co-produced by Christopher Nolan starring Leonardo di Caprio,Ken Watanabe,Elen Page,Joseph Gordon-Levitt,Marion Cotillard,Tom Hardy,Cilian Murphy,Dilleep Rao,Tom Bellenger,Michael Kan

Just watched Inception, directed and co-produced by Christopher Nolan starring Leonardo di Caprio,Ken Watanabe,Elen Page,Joseph Gordon-Levitt,Marion Cotillard,Tom Hardy,Cilian Murphy,Dilleep Rao,Tom Bellenger,Michael Kan.

I watched this movie for the first time, on June 25 th, 2011. This movie is of type "Sci-fi"

1) First Impression: I must say that the fact that Leonardo di caprio is starring in this movie, is the first thing that would encourage me to watch it the power of fame, the title is intriguing too, i didn't know what an inception was just had a general idea, and didn't want to spoil myself by goggling it. I allowed Christopher Nolan, to educate me about this subject. After 30 minutes into the movie, i started wondering if this wasn't just a remake of movies such as  ExistenZ , and  the matrix.

2) Long story short:

Dom cobb (Leonardo di caprio), a specialized corporate spy, is given a mission to plant an idea (inception), into a Robert Fisher (Cillian Murphy) 's brain. With the help of  his team, they manage to plug fisher into a dream world, and organize a set of events manipulations to get information in and out of his mind.
At the end of the movie, The mission is successful, and Dom cobb returns home to his family.

3) Conclusion

I don't usually go into the specifics of sci-fi movies especially when the movie attempts to rely on the viewers ignorance of the science and technology. That is why my resume is really short. but trust me my conclusion about this movie won't be as short.

There is something i "hated" about this movie. the incredible contradiction between the claims  and the technology to back up those claims in the story. What i mean is, brain science from all angles is one of the most complex, both in reality and in sci-fi. Believe it or not, this movie actually claims, that with one piece of hardware that can fit in a small suitcase, some fancy sedatives and a few pipes, can actually induce sounds, motions, colors, into a human beings brain and transmits that information among multiple subjects just by interconnecting them through the magical box. And what is even worse, the box can be afforded, understood and used, and maintained by some old uneducated and poor people in the remotest part of Tanzania (zanzibar). all of this just doesn't make much sense to me.

There is no attempt in the movie to explain even remotely how the  suitcase works. Unlike "The Matrix" or Even ExistenZ which not only have a clear display of what is the technology used to, and explanation of  all the hypothesis and claims in the movie, inception just shows me a suitcase with only one push-button, some people getting liquid injection, which unleash this marvellous, wonderfull beyond imagination world of mind projects, sharing, information transmission, and much more. I HATE IT.

It would have made such a great difference if the movie had simply introduce, a few computers, a geek, some neuro-biologist, and why not a telepathic helmet, of any sort.... but that is too much to ask when the directors decided, that viewers are not smart enough to raise this kind of questions!!!! But hey guess what, don't make it too complex, but please don't insult my intelligence neither hein? But just to be fair, i will propose 2 or 3 questions about the things i didn't understand, maybe i am just in need of an explanation, who knows?

1) What exactly is contained in the suitcase? is it a computer with a chip? or is it just bottls with chemicals inside?
2) I have noticed a push button that somehow when pushed will get those who are plugged into the machine fall in the dreams of one of the subject. is the button used to pump the chemicals into people's blood?
3) It is obvious the only sort of connections involved here are chemical ones, and no electrical impulse, my last question is how exactelly does that help, one subject to enter the mind of the other? maybe some wireless connection between brainwave signals, of the users involved....
I have tones of other questions, but... few hope to get them properly answered, so i will just end by saying, this movie have some great sound and visual effects, but the mere fact that it attempts to rely on this religious belief in the all mighty technological box... debase the value i would have otherwise given it. my note for this is 1/10.

If you have not yet done so, Watch only when you are bored, and have plenty of time to waste.
