There's a pretty good chance that whatever weather app you're using isn't just telling you the forecast, but also selling your data to insurance companies and the like. MyRadar, one of the most popular apps in the space, has been open about this, and while it gives users the option to opt out of the practice, it still isn't the safest way to track the weather.
